چکیده
St. Augustinegrass [Stenotaphrum secundatum (Walter) Kuntze] is a popular warm-season turfgrass in the southern United States. Gray leaf spot (GLS), caused by fungal pathogen Pyricularia oryzae Cavara, one of major diseases Augustinegrass. Although previous studies have reported polyploid lines with resistance to GLS, no comprehensive evaluations sources been performed genus. Such will enable breeders identify resistant parents for cultivar development. In this study, 58 genotypes and two pembagrass dimidiatum (L.) Brongn.] were screened three different P. inoculum under controlled environmental conditions. The parameters evaluated incubation period, number leaves lesions, mean lesion length, area disease progress curve (AUDPC), expansion (AULEC). Significant differences among identified. Polyploid PI 365031, 290888, 300129, 300130, ‘FX-10’ diploid genotype 410353 consistently showed high levels across trials, sources, parameters. identification genes great importance future breeding efforts, as germplasm pool can be more readily exploited because lack reproductive barriers most commercial cultivars plant introductions.

Identification of genetic resources of field resistance to barley leaf rust in local germplasm of cultivated barley
The barley leaf rust has been important in recent years in Iran. In order to identify the genetic resources of resistance to this disease, 207 Iranian barley landraces were studied. The germplasms were investigated at the field of Iraqi-Mahalleh research station in Gorgan as the disease hotspot under natural incidence over three years. The results showed that four genotypes including KC18638 an...
متن کاملBayesian inference to study genetic control of resistance to gray leaf spot in maize.
Gray leaf spot (GLS) is a major maize disease in Brazil that significantly affects grain production. We used Bayesian inference to investigate the nature and magnitude of gene effects related to GLS resistance by evaluation of contrasting lines and segregating populations. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with three replications and the mean values were analyzed us...
متن کاملIdentification of Genetic Sources of Resistance to the Seed-Born Leaf Stripe Disease of Barley (Pyneophera graminea Ito & Kurib)
Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Leaf stripe disease of barley is caused by the seed transmitted hemi-biotrophic fungus Pyneophera graminea which has spread in to important areas of barley production in Iran especially in Khorasan Razavi province. The fungus survives as a mycelium in the pericarp, the hull and the seed coat, but not in the embryo. During the seed generation, its g...
متن کاملPhenotypic and Molecular Screening of Tomato Germplasm for Resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus
Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a major tomato virus in tropical and subtropical regions. In this study, 134 accessions of Solanum lycopersicum and six accessions of Solanum peruvianum were assessed for resistance to an Iranian isolate of TYLCV. Plants were inoculated using whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) and the reaction of plants was evaluated based on either disease symptoms or viral DN...
